Eastern pipistrelle (Pipistrellus subflavus)

This particular bat is in deep hibernation! The cave in which they are hibernating maintains a constant temperature of 1 degree Celsius. The frost on it's fur is a result of the moisture from it's breath, and from within the cave, freezing. Hibernating bats in Canada must last for 7 months without food!
